Rick Kay

Pasco-Hernando State College, Associate Professor, Psychology

Rick Kay is a professor of phsychology at PHSC's Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel since its opeing in 2014 and the current advisor for Psi Beta, the psychology honor society for two-year colleges. Previously, he taught full-time at North Campus in Brooksville. Prior to 2012, Kay was a part-time adjunct instructor with PHSC.

Kay received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Florida two master's degrees - in counseling from NOVA Southeastern University and clinical psychology from Albizu University. Kay also has completed his doctoral training in clinical psychology at Albizu University. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and qualified clinical supervisor in the State of Florida. He currently has a part-time private practice in New Port Richey.

Kay has over 30 years of experience in helping individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues in various settings such as residential, outpatient, inpatient hospitalization and home visits. He provides individual, couples, family and group counseling for patients with mental health disorders and addiction. His treatment specializations include: Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Thought Disorders, Co-occurring Disorders, Addiction, Schizophrenia, Occupational Problems, Trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Grief and Loss, Divorce, Crisis/Trauma, Behavioral Problems, Anger Management, Family Conflict, Life Transitions, and Relationship Problems.  He provides psychotherapy for all age groups.
