Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D.

Pasco-Hernando State College, President

Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D. was named Pasco-Hernando State College’s fourth president in 2015. Dr. Beard has worked for PHSC since 2007, previously serving as vice president of student development and enrollment management. Under his leadership, PHSC’s enrollment increased more than 40 percent. Prior to this, Dr. Beard served as the dean of student affairs for the University of South Alabama in Mobile and the director of student affairs and enrollment manager at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee.

During his career, he’s held positions including: director of graduate student and enrollment management services, director of instructional research assessment and special programs, and director of career services at Florida A&M—Florida State University in Tallahassee; and assistant career counseling and placement center director at Florida A&M University.

Beard earned his doctoral degree in rehabilitation counseling from Florida State University in Tallahassee. He also holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Florida State University.
