Health Science Courses

PHSC offers health training courses that will prepare students for careers as a health scribe, phlebotomist or an EMT. The health scribe course is a single course and the phlebotomy and EMT training are certificate courses. Students should consult with an Academic Advisor to determine the best pathway to success based on their interests and career goals.

This 15-week course will prepare you to sit for the National Medical Scribe Certification examination (MSCE) through the American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group.  This self-paced, online program will assist you in becoming efficient in the electronic health records (EHR) system, both for current healthcare workers or those interested in beginning a career in healthcare.

How to Register

To complete the application process for a Continuing Professional Education/Industry Certification Prep course, follow these steps:

  1. Register for the continuing education course. Do not pay the fees. 
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using PHSC school code 010652, if not previously completed.

Career Certificate and College Credit Certificate Programs

PHSC offers degree and certificate programs, exam prep and other courses to meet the unique needs of students. That is why we also provide other fast-track and short-term (one or two semesters) credentialing opportunities to prepare students for the workforce. Credit certificates are stackable and part of the Associate in Science degree listed. Clock hour certificates articulate to the listed degree.

How to Register

To complete the application process for a College Credit or Career Certificate program, follow these steps:

  1. Apply to the College to become a PHSC student. 
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using PHSC school code 010652, if not previously completed.
  3. Meet with an Academic Advisor to register for courses.
