Technology Courses

PHSC’s variety of technology courses will prepare students for careers in computer programming, cyber security, tech support, network support, and other computer science fields. Select from a variety of individual courses to further your knowledge or choose a certificate track. Individual courses and certificate courses may apply to the associate degree. Students should consult with an Academic Advisor to determine the best pathway to success based on their interests and career goals.

Certified CompTIA A+

Description: This 14-week course will prepare you to sit for the Core I and Core II CompTIA A+ certification examinations. You will learn the fundamentals concepts of installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs and related software/hardware; how to assemble and disassemble components to specification; apply troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues.

Certified Linux Essentials - Cybersecurity

Description: This 8-week course will prepare you to sit for the CompTIA A+ Certified Professional examination. This course introduces  students to Linux, the most widely used operating system in the cyber and cloud computing environments. Students will learn the Linux operating systems, file management concepts and components, data extraction, command scripting, security concepts, and develop virtual machine skills.

Description: This 10-week course will prepare you to sit for the Microsoft MTA Introduction to Programming Using Python certification exam. Python programming is easy for beginners to learn and widely used in cybersecurity and scientific data exploration areas. Students in this course will learn about data types, control flow, object-oriented programming, and graphical user interface-driven applications.

To complete the application process for a Continuing Professional Education/Industry Certification Prep course, follow these steps:

  1. Register for the continuing education course
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using PHSC school code 010652, if not previously completed.

Career Certificate and College Credit Certificate Programs

PHSC offers degree and certificate programs, exam prep and other courses to meet the unique needs of students. That is why we also provide other fast-track and short-term (one or two semesters) credentialing opportunities to prepare students for the workforce. Credit certificates are stackable and part of the Associate in Science degree listed. Clock hour certificates articulate to the listed degree.
